Currently accepting applications for entry level criminal defense investigator position for motivated, flexible, open-minded college graduate who has a strong interest in the criminal justice system, helping indigent defendants, and learning about the law. A four year college degree is required. Excellent writing and interpersonal skills are a must. Job involves working a minimum of 40 hours/week with a number of different attorneys and law firms on their state criminal case investigations. We just moved into a new cool huge industrial/loft space, located in Vergennes, VT. Competitive salary will be based on experience, includes two weeks paid time off, 6 federal holidays and 2 sick days. Currently accepting applications from college & university students for investigative internship program. This is a very hands-on internship, where college interns shadow our investigators on our daily case work, and act as note takers and investigative assistants. Interns help out with drafting memos, drafting record requests, & help with social media research, background checks, subpoena service and more. Excellent writing and interpersonal skills are a must. Every fall & spring semester, and for some January breaks, and each summer we have openings for college students to intern part-time (minimum 15 hours/week) and full-time in the summer. Our college interns add real value on serious criminal cases. If you are curious about the law, social work, sociology, and/or psychology, and want to make a difference in vulnerable defendants' lives, this is a great chance to spend some weeks with boots on the ground to see if work in the criminal justice system is a good fit for you.
